say the due date out loud.

The deadline you’ve been avoiding gets easier once somebody else knows about it. Tell us the funder, the date and what the money is for. Thirty minutes, free, blunt, and you’ll know by the end whether the application is worth your month.

Before you dial

bring this. leave the polish at home.

  • The funder’s guidelines, or a link to the NOFO / RFP
  • The due date, and the date you’d like to be done
  • Your current budget and last year’s 990 (rough is fine)
  • One paragraph on what the money would actually do
  • Any past rejection letter. Yes, really. We love those.

before you hit send.

Does the first call cost anything?

No. Thirty minutes, free. If the application isn’t worth your time, we’ll say so and you’ve lost nothing.

What if my deadline is two weeks away?

Call anyway. We ask for 21 days on a federal package, but a foundation application or a red-pen rescue ($475) can often move faster. We’ll tell you straight what’s realistic.

Do I need a finished budget before we talk?

No. A rough current budget and last year’s 990 are enough. We build the budget justification with you.

When do I hear what it costs?

In writing, one to two days after the call, as a single fixed fee for the whole package. Once you say yes, it doesn’t move.
